Not sure what to say about orphanage visit except that it was hard, very hard especially when we saw her crib where she always slept. I am still processing visit myself. It was hard on Rhylan and she did not want to much to do with her caretakers. She did eventually go to some of them but was very eager to come back to my arms!
She has bonded very well with me and goes well to Chris. She resisted kids at first which shocked me, but is starting to warm up to them. She does NOT want to be put down and likes to walk which has made me tired. She is sick now with a horrible cough, runny/stuffy nose with diarrhea. We have started her on an antibiotic and pray she will start to feel better soon.
A Few Things We Know About Rhylan
She has a personality and is not afraid to tell you if she doesn't like something.
She loves to eat and is not picky about food.
She sleeps very well at night (so far).
She was loved and well cared for at orphanage.
She loves her bath.
She loves to be held.
She is shy and it takes her awhile to warm up to people.
We are so thankful she is now a cherished daughter, adored sister, and loved granddaughter!! Love from Zhengzhou, China!

What an exhausting day! Congratulations! I remember the overwhelming relief when we heard officially that Alaysia was ours...all the paper work, the longing and waiting had built up to this moment and it was such a weight off my shoulders to know she was ours. It's so great to hear how well she's bonding to you!!! That is wonderful! I can imagine how hard visiting her orphanage was and all that you are processing - but going there and seeing that gives you a greater understanding of all your sweet girl has gone through. That is priceless. And it will be priceless to her that you've been there.
ReplyDeleteOnce again overjoyed that you officially are her parents!!! Congratulations! We will pray Rhylan gets feeling better and you all remain in good health.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Rhylan! You have been given a terrific family to be a part of! Sorry to hear you are sick a bit. You will get better. Just do what mommy and daddy say. Take your medicine. You look beautiful with your family. Can't wait to see you and meet you back in Indiana. We are praying for you and your new family.

ReplyDeleteCameron, Hello from Zachary!
If you think this 'ceremony' was casual, wait until the consulate appt. - you'll think you're at the BMV :)
ReplyDeleteSo excited! She sounds darling. Can't wait to see ALL of you. God is so good!

Wow- each step of the journey is so neat to hear about! Thanks for taking the time to keep us updated. Hope you feel God with you every step of the way. Rhylan is adorable- looks like she has more hair than Josie :) I'm looking forward to when Josie gets to meet her. It will be fun to watch their friendship grow in the years to come (I looked at the calendar & Rhylan is exactly 6 weeks older than Josie). God bless your family and keep you in His care!
